Think of Moving?

  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

From front to back, Lotus, Chocolate Mousse, Parve cream cheese.
Looks like something you try once  just to say you tried it and then it's back to the apple fritters and cinnamon donuts.

Hmmm, I don't think I've had the Miami. (or if I did I didn't think too highly of it.)

I guess I'll need to try them next time.

In all seriousness, before I knew anything about Cleveland, I knew that there was this mystical place called Ungers and they made donuts that were unlike any donuts in the world. It was not a specific thing about the donuts - they seemed so ordinary and non-glamourous on the outside. But there was something so sublime about those donuts - which BTW, you needed to eat fresh, so don't bother trying to get a Clevelander to bring you one. And while the rest of the world tries to compete by putting cream cheese, caramel, or strawberry shortcake in their donuts, it's all just a failed attempt to make a donut that a Clevelander won't wrinkle their nose at.

These notions were ingrained deeply within my psyche by those Cleveland boys who were in my yeshiva, and they remain part of my internal beliefs. Seeing those pictures of Ungers donuts with add-ons, especially with the uneven frosting, or the notion that Ungers donuts are not as good off the shelf at 6pm, is rubbing me the wrong way.

Ungers donuts are good. They are competitive. But by no means are they by far the best out there. The impression you've gotten from clevelanders is
