Think of Moving?

Airports:
  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CLE is about $30.
  • CLE off-site parking is about $9/day, on-site parking is $17-$22/day, and curbside valet parking is $35/day.

  • The nicest hotel in Cleveland is like the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Marriott's Metropolitan at The 9 is also highly regarded, with a bar in an old vault. There is also a Hilton, Westin, and Kimpton downtown.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

Ouch.

Gearity (UH) and Mercer (SH) are no longer eligible for new traditional EdChoice.

Existing enrolees and new income based students are still eligible.

It looks like they increased the eligibility to 250% of Federal poverty. But the form lists both 250% and 200%. Does anyone understand this?

I genuinely don't understand this....
Seems that up to 200% gets you tuition paid in full.
201-250% gets you a tuition voucher even if you don't live in a qualifying area, but you don't get tuition paid in full.

If someone is in 200% and lower, school isn't allowed to charge anything besides for registration and supply fee (HAC's fees are $350.00 per student - k-8th grade), school lunch is a separate application.

How much does the school get from the vouchers?

School gets the same amount, but they're not allowed to require more money for tuition.

Tuition is the same as pre voucher days. Before vouchers low income people with multiple kids in school likely didn’t pay $6000/kid so the schools should be getting more now than they used to.

How many do they have available? There must be over a hundred people there?
