  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

Born and bred Clevelander here who rarely comes back (as my parents moved away).
I came in this past weekend and was rather disappointed to not be able to go to Mendels as they are closed Friday, closed Motzei Shabbos and closed Sunday until dinnertime.
I'm glad they are allegedly doing well but this seems to be typical Cleveland food establishment syndrome.
On the East Coast, such a place would be open more.
They were open MS in the winter. MS in summer makes no sense, Shabbos doesn't end until 10pm here.

@Jolu time to open Friday and Sunday lunch. :D

Really?
Most meat sit down restaurants that I'm familiar with are closed on Friday & summer Sat nights. Sunday lunch is hit or miss with the lower end family places typically open and the higher end restaurants only opening for dinner service.

Yup, closed Friday/MS/Sunday lunch seems to be true for Barnea, Bonito47, Mikes, Tabernacle, Reserve cut, WSG, and more.

I understand the automatic "this is a Cleveland syndrome" reaction. 1) were not allegedly doing well. BH were doing very well. 2) the numbers made no sense to be open on Friday and being that were of course closed on Saturdays, the only way to be properly prepared for Sunday dinner (busiest night of the week), is to be closed Sunday lunch. Like most kosher restaurants. 3) as much as we'd love to always be open for the convenience of all traveler's, we really would, and I'd be the first to make sure that happens, sometimes we just need a break in order to function at least at half capacity the rest of the week. I hope this gives at least a semi acceptable explanation...

Makes sense to me, and I'm not surprised about Friday, though Shabbos takeout would be clutch.

But yes, I was in Vienna from Fri to Sun and basically every decent kosher place was closed. Nunu.

Met with the mayor and council a couple weeks ago. Very positive meeting.

If people sign up for this, they'll consider making it a weekly event next year.

Yup, good answer though. Can't let every worry about a boogeyman stop us from trying something new.

Basically that they have regular hours that are inclusive for everyone and this is just meant specifically for people that are uncomfortable during the regular times.

Hyatt Place in Legacy Village is a great place to stay.

Many really nice hikes and parks around.

What specifically are you looking to do?
