Think of Moving?

Airports:
  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CLE is about $30.
  • CLE off-site parking is about $9/day, on-site parking is $17-$22/day, and curbside valet parking is $35/day.

  • The nicest hotel in Cleveland is like the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Marriott's Metropolitan at The 9 is also highly regarded, with a bar in an old vault. There is also a Hilton, Westin, and Kimpton downtown.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

Ok I just got 158$ there is that the cheapest or should I keep looking?
Look in the right thread for car rentals. Cleveland has the same general rates and codes as any other city.

Why do all Cleveland food establishments need to be mismanaged? I think Cleveland with all the new growth can support local eateries. At the same time we expect the establishments to serve a good consistent product with good consistent service. Is that too much to ask?

Smart people can make better money in other industries.
That leaves the restaurants in the hands of utter morons.

Ouch.

If you can't do, teach. If you can't teach, teach PE. If you can't teach PE open a restaurant?

Definitely not always true IMHO.

There are a bunch of cheapskates in Cleve, so even if someone competent would open a store (if some grandfathered store wouldn't bully him out of it), it wouldn't take off.

Completely untrue.
Chef Dave does a slightly above average job and sells out every time.  And they're also completely incompetent.

Obviously there's a difference if the food is a necessity (as opposed to an "extra").

I thought Chef Dave is a catering place, so its more of a necessity for people as opposed to restaurant (and in regards to restaurants lots of people are cheapskates).

If you'd follow this thread you'd know he opens a restaurant a few times a year in young Israel.

Although he probably sells out because it's so infrequent.

But you do agree that Cleve is loaded with people that love to keep their $ in their pockets, and will not support a normal restaurant?

Not at all.
Abba's was the last half-normal restaurant we had and it was crowded.  Though it too was just terribly mismanaged but at least the food was worth eating out for.

Did you go on some bad dates there or something? Sheesh, my mother-in-law is in Cleveland, fer cryin' out loud, and yet I can't come up with half the nasty things to say about it that you do. :P

No not at all. (Trying to find any other pointers I had said, besides very bad experience with Delta).
I just recently had this conversation in Cleveland with my inlaws (yup they are in Cleveland).
If opening a nice (pricy) restaurant with good food and ambiance, would be a good idea.
I was told and (see it somewhat) that people would not patronage.
