closing/cancelling chase cards

I just cancelled my continental onepass card because i got charged the annual fee. I was just remembering I shouldve maybe transfer the credit line or downgrade..Is it too late to do anything?

most people here probably use old cards as leverage to open new ones, if you're not in a position to do that now then the best thing would be to move the credit onto a different card, that way it's still on your cr and available should you need to move it around in the future

. . . .or maybe you should've gotten a retention bonus.  Next time,  before cancelling a cc bec of the annual fee, check this thread

Careful, sometimes that necessitates a pull, in which case you're probably better off applying for a new card.

i didnt do anything yet, I just feel bad bec I had on it a $8500 credit line .Also They didnt want to waive annual fee.

Basically since I closed my card last week they credited my annual fee and now that I reinstated it, theres no annual fee for another year since I was just credited for it-as I was told by a supervisor. So I guess im better off keeping it open for now..

i have reinstated cards with chase before.....and one time....they didn't even recharge me the fee
