NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
Limit one (1) entry per person. If you attempt to enter the Sweepstakes more than once, Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify all of your entries. To enter by mail, you must mail a postcard, first-class postage pre-paid, indicating your name, your residential address, your e-mail address, your telephone number, and the name of the participating program who you want your entry to be associated with as follows:

Joint Points.com And Win Sweepstakes
P.O. Box 543, Saint Charles, Illinois, 60174

Mail-in entries must be received by Sponsor by January 31, 2012. Sponsor reserves the right to reject any entries that are ineligible or otherwise do not conform to the requirements of these Rules, any entries that have been tampered with, any automated or computer-generated script entries, or any entries that are late, misdirected, incomplete, corrupt, lost, or submitted after the Sweepstakes is discontinued.

As of August 1, 2011, the participating loyalty programs and the approximate retail value (ARV) of the prizes are as follows:
Aeroplan® CAD$25,000
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan US$25,000
American Airlines AAdvantage® US$25,000
Membership Rewards® program from American Express US$50,000 (Forget that...)
Continental OnePass® US$25,000
Delta SkyMiles® US$25,000
Frontier Airlines EarlyReturns® US$25,000
Hawaiian Airlines® HawaiianMiles® US$25,000
JetBlue TrueBlue US$25,000
Priority Club® Rewards US$12,500
US Airways® Dividend Miles® US$25,000
Virgin America Elevate US$25,000

...And the best part: In order to be declared a winner, Canadian residents will be required to correctly answer a time-limited skill-testing mathematical question, to be administered by telephone, e-mail or other method at Sponsor's discretion, without mechanical or other assistance.  :o You would think a Canadian company wouldn't hate their own people so much!
If you have my email PLEASE don't PM me :)

What happens if you win MR but don't have an Amex card?

As with many of these sweepstakes, some of these awards are barely worth the taxes you'll owe if you win...

1. You apply for one than.
2. The taxes part should be mentioned in the t&c's if there would be.

1. What if I don't want to/can't and win the MR award? (that was really my original question)
2. They require an SSN (or equivalent) 'for compliance purposes', what do you think that is? They also say you're responsible for the taxes, and they're legally required to 1099 you AFAIK.

Different kind of service? Points.com is the underlying platform that facilitates a lot of what happens under the hood with award programs/promotions.

you'd win only on the program you inrolled with, meaning if you don't own an amex then you won't be able to win MR coz you didn't inroll in that specific program

as far ad taxes, you can't owe more taxes then the miles worth, unless your concern is that you'll show a higher income then you wanted to show

I have points.com for months they never alerted me on any promos/offers

generally differences btwn the two
1) AW has a much bigger variety of programs they participate like CHASE cc etc.
2) AW alerts you on upcoming miles expiry+point balance changes [very good feature IMHO]
3)navigating AW is a bit easier then points.com
4) AW has smartphone app
on the other hand point.com
1)give you the ability to trade/exchange points
2)AA advantage doesn't work on AW [you can view it every time you log in but it won't track it for you]

however if your 1St time to AW use coupon 'goback6mo' to get a free 6 month plus membership

1)give you the ability to trade/exchange points

They rates/fees are prohibitive, it's virtually worthless.

+1
but still it might pay for some people who are in desperate need for miles etc.
IAC there is still the benefit of seeing all rewards on 1 place

You can typically buy MR @ 2.5cpm and deposit that (or a similar solution), which will typically be much cheaper.

As per http://contest.points.com/1MillionContest-Amex.html :

1) Enter your email address and phone number below.
2) Join Points.com using the same email address.
3) Add American Express® Membership Rewards® to your balance tracker.

I did those three, that's it? I didn't see any mention of the sweepstakes, or even choose which airline I want to win... (Or did I just mess up and choose MR?)
