Thanx

Usually you have 30 days from when you are billed the annual fee (or as one rep. told me you have 60 days from when the account is opened) to cancel and not have to pay the fee.

just got an SM

Dear YG,

Thank you for contacting Chase.

Since the annual fee of $69.00 was billed to your account
within 60 days of the date the account was closed, a
refund of the fee will automatically post to your account
within one to two billing cycles.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

Thank you,

The main thing is that they said Im getting it back
:)

I recall reading about the fee being divided into 12 and a refund being issued for the months that were not used.

Is that just an Amex thing?

Oops didn't realize I can't redeem those SW points for gift cards if I don't have an account.  I guess this is how we learn :-)

Any way to transfer to another point system to get GC's?  Or should I just wait another year watch for another great chase SW offer and open again and then redeem for GC's - or use for miles to visit Cleveland :-)
