What i found renting both an EV and a Tesla is that tesla have way more places to charge and much faster... I was frustrated with a regular EV with the slowness and lack of places
Valid point, and one of the reasons I ended up buying the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
A Tesla model Y can accept a charging rate of up to 210 KW. An Ioniq 5 can accept rates of up to 234 KW.
For similar cars, the Polestar 2 can only accept rates of up to 133 kW. The VW ID4, 125 kW. The Mustang Mach E 110-150kW (depending on the model).
It can mean the difference between 15 to 30 minutes based on what car you have. And the smaller ones are even slower at the DC fast chargers. So like I said, definitely a learning curve for new EV drivers.
