More like NEVER. The liberal leftists....
Labeling those who messed up time and again as "leftists" or any other simple "others" label distracts from the fact that basically the entire political and security establishment has been making the same mistakes over and over again.
The Right has been in power for almost the entire past 15 years.
Begin's exchange (76:1) in 1979 is considered the first time Israel exchanged with a terrorist organization.
In 1983 Shamir exchanged ~4800 prisoners for 6 soldiers (~800:1) held by Arafat.
Iskat Jibril (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jibril_Agreement) (~383:1) was done by the National Unity government, at that point headed by Rabin-Peres, but was negotiated by Shmuel Tamir (of Kastner trial fame, a Jabotinsky righty before it was cool) and all the Likud Ministers voted for it (Shamir, Levy, Arens, Sharon et al) as well as all the religious ministers (Burg et al). The one dissenting minister was Navon, a "leftist."
That exchange was infamous for releasing terrorists who swore to return to terror and later committed many high-profile murders of Israelis.
Shalit deal (1027:1), which released Sinwar among many other convicted murderers was voted on by the 29 ministers of Bibi's cabinet. 26 for, 3 against. The three against were all "right wing", but Bibi and every Likud member besides Yaalon voted for, as did Shas and Bayit Hayehudi.
These were the "big" exchanges with terrorists. I left out the exchanges of actual POWs with Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt, those are different.
Put another way, the "Right" and Religious parties have never voted
against a deal.
While on the subject, the Right-wing parties have given away more land more times than the Left-wing. And especially the retreat which started it all, the 1978 Camp David accords and 1979 withdrawal from Sinai, perpetrated by the hero and prophet of the Right-wing, Menachem Begin.
