An intelligence document distributed by the IDF described in detail the raid plan for the border area, including the exact number of hostages. The information was passed to the Gaza Division - and completely ignored.

If true, and it seems that it is, every single person who knew and did nothing about it needs to be dismissed from the army and the senior brass need to charged with criminal charges. Unacceptable but typical of the hubris that IDF brass are known for.

It's a Bolshevik deep state. The current IDF chief of staff was appointed by the outgoing defense minister Benny Gantz based on some pretense that there's a confidential security concern that compels an immediate appointment of a new chief of staff, even though there were several weeks (or months) left for the term of the outgoing one, but that would have left the appointment to Netanyahu's government. The Israeli Supreme Court accepted the argument.

The worst victims of Hamas are the Palestinians. Sadly, they're very deserving of everything they receive so no sympathy from me but Arab cruelty to their own is unsurpassed.
