Message for Iran can makes sense, but he was in Iran already recently, for the funeral of the killed in the Damascus embassy strike. Perhaps the message to Iran was now a higher priority than that time.

Eta, Haniyah's attendance was likely at Raisi's funeral.

I'm just making up stuff, but Hizbullah just killed 12 people. That changes a lot. So either they can just keep doing what they usually do and hit some targets, or they can finally go and embarrass Iran. I hope they're not finished.

Just noting that hezbollah/iran/hamas didn't get any more evil today over last week. The fact they need to wait for 12 dead before taking out a high value target is ridiculous

Agreed. Though it is entirely possible they didn't have a clear opportunity until now.

We know they've been targeting Deif for years, long before this war, and it took until a few weeks ago to get him.

Wondering the same. Why wouldn't they target him in Qatar? It's not that he was hiding..

And even if let's they they did not want to do anything over Qatar soil, why not bring down his private plane? He used fly all over..
