This presents an enormous challenge. The Israeli government has been balancing military objectives with efforts to bring hostages home, and an immediate all-out demand for their release could jeopardize the scheduled return of three captives this Saturday. On the other hand, holding back could be perceived as hesitation—a perception that has had consequences in the past.

By the ceasefire a year ago, one the tems was that Israel was not allowed to fly drones over them. I didn't see it mentioned this time.

By the ceasefire a year ago, one the tems was that Israel was not allowed to fly drones over them. I didn't see it mentioned this time.

There are flyover limits during this ceasefire, I think it lasts 10-12
hours a day.

Netanyahu’s televised statement is very ambiguous. He didn’t say 3 hostages, 9 hostages, all hostages.

I expect at best 3 released by Saturday at Noon, and if 3 living hostages are released by Saturday at Noon, I don’t expect hostilities to immediately resume.

There are unofficial reports that:
- Israel isn’t negotiating phase 2
- Israel is demanding return of the 9 living hostages from phase 1 within a few days (whatever that means)
- Israel is demanding return of
all remaining hostages by the scheduled end of phase 1 (19 days from today)
