Exactly, a "pause" basically turns troops in Gaza into sitting ducks. Not gonna happen. OTOH, let them agree to it and then restart the second Hamas fires a rocket. There won't be a pause.

We can’t evaluate whether it’s worth a try without parameters? Who is making this offer? What exactly are they offering? What exactly do they expect? How long are they asking for? Etc.

They are not going to issue statements and reports on every battle, let alone every shooting in middle of a war. You're gonna have to wait for months after the war ends for the reports and inquiries to be done
