If you're going to use this as a way of justifying killing people, you're going down a very slippery slope. Thoughts and words don't equal actions. Rape and murder stand in a league of their own. There may be perfectly good legitimizations for what Israel is doing, but I'm not sure this is the one I'd use.

I am not justifying killing them, it wouldn’t be right to drive a pickup truck through a parade of Palestinians. But I would have to think hard before putting Israeli soldiers in harms way to save these “innocent” civilians.

You asked if this was going to change any minds outside of the echo chamber. I don't think this moves the needle. Civilians are civilians no matter how much they say they hate the enemy.
