TBH, given what we know about Hamas (they don't care about the well-being of the civilian population) and with everything being said by the Israelis (that they will resume military operations once the deal is concluded, and that their goal is to eliminate Hamas), what reason to enter this deal does Hamas have?

Under "normal" circumstances getting prisoners released (especially in disproportionate numbers) along with a ceasefire by the Israelis would be seen as a win for them, which they can "bring back" to their people. But here they are getting very little (at best, a temporary delay in Gazans being totally fed up with them) and are being promised that military operations to destroy them will resume.

What's in it for them?

What's in it for them?

A small win is better than no win, they can frame it as a ceasefire they forced on Israel. Combined with a reprieve for their combatants, ability to reposition forces/supplies, fuel, and hope for international pressure for the cease fire to become permanent. They might also have a chance to (go retrieve and?) destroy intelligence/documents they don’t want falling into Israeli hands.

Also, an opportunity to you with Israel, control the narrative, and further torment the families of hostages (and by extension all Israelis/Jews who care).

Eh. If they decide the burden is too much they can just kill 100 of the hostages right now and increase the value of the remaining hostages without releasing any. Similar to the famous R’ Chaim about destroying one out of a rare set of two coins that doesn’t technically cause a loss because one surviving coin is worth what the pair was originally worth. Overlooking that ultimately, every hostage out is a life saved. It’s not hypothetical. Each life saved is just that, a life saved, not a game.

ראשית, ובאופן כמעט בלתי נמנע, שחרור חלקי של חטופים מגביר את הסכנה לחטופים שנשארים בשבי. הן הסכנה לחייהם ולשלמות גופם והן הסכנה שימי ההתארגנות ישמשו את החמאס לשנות מיקומים או להקשות על סיכויי החילוץ שלהם בעתיד.

שנית, ימי הפסקת האש עלולים להיות מנוצלים חלילה לפגיעה בחיילינו ולנסיונות חטיפה. כולנו זוכרים את בניה שראל, את ליאל גדעוני ואת הדר גולדין זכרונם לברכה. זהו איננו חשש תיאורטי, וצה"ל חייב לוודא שלא יהיו מקרים שכאלה בהפסקת האש שבמסגרת העסקה הנוכחית.

שלישית, ההפוגה עלולה להידרדר לעצירת המומנטום הצבאי של הלחימה ונסיונות סחיטה מצידו של החמאס במטרה להשיג ימי הפוגה נוספים, שעלולים להצטבר לעצירה מוחלטת או כמעט מוחלטת של הפעילות הצבאית בעזה ולפגיעה במטרת העל של המלחמה, השמדת חמאס ופירוז הרצועה. על צה"ל לחדש את התקיפות  מיד עם תום הזמן הקצוב עד למימוש 2 מטרות המלחמה במלואן

רביעית, ניצול ימי ההפוגה על ידי החמאס לטובת התעצמות, התחמשות, התארגנות והתמגנות שיגבירו משמעותית את הסיכון לכוחותינו לכשתתחדש הלחימה, ויקשו מאוד על הסרת האיום מעל יישובי העוטף ומדינת ישראל כולה.

חמישית, כניסת התקשורת הזרה בימי הפסקת האש והשקת והעצמת קמפיין המציג את ההרס בעזה ומזמין לחצים בגין "משבר הומניטרי".

שישית, הגברת הלחצים הבינלאומיים להפסקת אש, בין בגלל התקדים של הפסקה יזומה על ידינו, ובין בשל ירידת הלחץ הבינלאומי הנובע ממספרם הגדול של החטופים ומזהותם.

שביעית, השימוש במשוחררי העסקה על ידי חמאס ככלי להתנעת חזיתות נוספות, ביהודה ושומרון, בירושלים ובשאר חלקי הארץ. חגיגות הזדהות או שמחה על שחרור המחבלים עלולות להפוך בקלות לאירועים מתגלגלים. זאת בנוסף לפיגועים שעלולים להתבצע באופן ישיר על ידי המשוחררים, כפי שהתרחש בעבר עם משוחררי עסקאות אחרות.

שמינית, עליית סכנה לחטיפות נוספות בעתיד הקרוב, בכל החזיתות ובחו"ל. בנושא הזה, דווקא העובדה שהעסקה נעשתה על נשים וילדים, ולא התקבע עיקרון ברור וחד שחטיפת ילדים איננה אירוע "משתלם" עבור ארגוני טרור, ואין שום יכולת "לסחור" בהם, עלולה להעמיד בסיכון מוגבר דווקא את האוכלוסיה הזו.

תשיעית, יצירת התקדים של עסקה חלקית, בניגוד לעסקה כוללת, עלולה להזמין סחיטה מתמשכת ומחירים הולכים וגדלים, שתלווה את הלחימה בחזית עזה למשך פרק זמן לא מוגבל. עסקה חלקית מייצרת את הסכנה שה"מחיר" שמדינת ישראל תידרש לשלם בעבור שחרורם של חטופים אחרים יעלה ויטפס, במונחים של ימי הפסקת לחימה או במונחים של שחרור מחבלים או כל צורך אחר שישרת את החמאס במלחמתו בישראל.

והנקודה האחרונה, והחשובה מכולן. כל הסיכונים הללו הם בהנחה שהחמאס לא יפר את תנאי העסקה. לא ישחק ברגשות המשפחות והציבור הישראלי. לא יימנע מלשחרר את החטופים שהתחייב לשחרר. לא יפר את הפסקת האש, בין בעצמו ובין באמצעות ארגוני פרוקסי או ארגונים סוררים. אם החמאס יפר את תנאי העסקה, נשלם את מלוא המחיר אך לא נזכה לראות בשובם של כל החטופים המוסכמים לביתם.

מדינת ישראל על כל זרועותיה הביטחוניות והמדיניות צריכה להתמקד בימים אלו בנטרול הסיכונים כולם.
 
המחויבות של מדינת ישראל חייבת להישמר לחיסולו המוחלט של החמאס ולהשבת כל החטופים לביתם.
