There's a wide range between dress clothes to shorts and a hoodie. I agree about moral clarity, but decorum is important IMHO.

I'm speaking with EXTREMELY limited knowledge here, but it could be that's part of his "brand" - that he's not pretending to be fancy, he's ignoring conventional demands and dress codes and just focusing on what's important - and what you see is what you get.

Correct, but we have a lot of people with moral clarity, what we need is prominent and respected peolple who's clarity will influence others. If he dresses always like a farmer and people view him as the meshugener senator then he is less influential than had he dressed and gave off the impression like a normal statesman.

I'd argue the opposite. We have plenty of statesmen with moral clarity.

Perhaps you're right, I'm not out there and that's how I personally viewed him a while ago. Does the average American really relate to his dress code in the senate and on diplomatic visits? Isn't he broadly considered as the funny senator?

I'm no grammar expert, nor a theological or halachic one. But even a dunce like me knows there's a difference between avenge and revenge; between G-dly vengeance and human revenge. My guess this has nothing to do with any of that, but just a brainless bureaucrat going by the book exactly without an inch of leeway. It's an easy win for the IDF if someone with half a braincell looks at the case and makes a one time exception and then let them revisit the rules.

As expected, this will be resolved by legislation. There are proposals in the works right now.
