I have a friend that was supposed to fly on UA84 today. Reps are telling them they can only be rebooked on UA (Which has no flights until 8/7). What is the best course of action for them to take? It is the second portion of there ticket. Will they receive comp if they just book a new flight themselves?

My wife is booked on an El Al flight for Thursday night back to Newark. We're not opposed to letting her get bumped to maybe another flight next week if the compensation from the airline would be high enough. Should she make an offer to them? If so, should she do it from the airport before the flight? What would be a good offer? I imagine all the flights for the next few days or weeks will be filled up from people trying to get home from other airlines, so I'm just worried that they won't be able to fit her on another flight next week. Any thoughts?

If anyone is stuck in the states due to the situation, we can help out with getting you on to an ELAL direct flight.
If you are booked on Delta but can't manage to get rebooked on ELAL (because of the lack of open seats on ELAL flights), we can try to get that done for you by contacting delta directly on your behalf.

I was on this flight and  was very anxious about st happening during nor post takeoff the crew were very calm and you were not able to tell if there was any concern or not

LH group cancelled all flights through 8/8. Now UA passengers are really stuck, unless they can get on Aegean via ATH.

IINM standard LY compensation for being bumped is around $950 cash or one RT ticket to anywhere they fly (I don't know exactly what is included in that)

What was the concern about this flight?

Personally I was very concerned because right before I boarded my flight dff was saying that the head of Iran ordered an attack on israel so taking off after such news felt like a sitting duck

Is Brussels included in this? From current bookings of family members of mine I see Swiss flights cancelled but Brussels shows they are still planned.

Yes just got an email. I was in middle of rebooking my family members who were on Swiss when the agent said all Brussels flights disappeared...
