Here is a site with updated list of airlines flying or not flying:
https://www.passportcard.co.il/article/airlines-at-war/
in Hebrew

If it says, for example:
לא (כל הטיסות מבוטלות עד ל05.09)

It means as of now they are not flying until Dec. 5, not including, meaning they are set to restart on Dec 5.

Many airlines keep on pushing off the restart date.

Airlines flying and cities currently served to TLV - as of 11/11/24 (from the passportcard site, ones verified by the DDMS are in Blue)

Mir Yarchei Kallah starts in JLM on Sunday.
220+ confirmed coming.
Tons more want to come but are pashut waitlisted for a seat on flights...
Me thinks that there are some people who are acustomed to flying up front who are a getting an experience in the back just to be there...
why doesnt the Mir charter?

Is UA paying Israeli compensation?

They could have cancelled flights 14 days in advance, but it was their decision to not do that.
They say not liable
Thay would operate but insurance and crew union won't allow them to therefore out of their hands

Was this not foreseeable to cancel flights with adequate notice (14 days) as required?

They aren't cancelling all flights 1 day out.

They have cancelled many >14 days, many <14 days.

So why not cancel on a rolling 14 day cycle?

They have a business to run and whenever possible they prefer to have the schedule set much further in advance than 14 days out. It’s also a costly headache to keep selling tickets that you won’t be able to fly, and having to deal with all those bookings.

People are flying from different locations. Many people go before Shabbos, some stay after Shabbos. People outside of the tri-state area would fly other airlines (some with stopovers), etc. I'm pretty sure that Elal added a flight this Motzei shabbos as well as next Friday morning, although it could be like that every week.

Email yesterday from Delta.

As events in Israel continue to unfold, we are diligently exploring every means possible to assist our customers affected by these events. We want you to know that your safety is our paramount concern, first and foremost, and that you are in our thoughts.

We have made the difficult decision to cancel all flights through February 5, 2024, between Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). As cancellations are processed, impacted customers will receive notifications delivered to the contact information listed in your reservation, and also via the Fly Delta app. Contact our reservations team for assistance with rebooking, changing your travel to another destination, or requesting a refund. Seats on Delta airline partners remain bookable on delta.com and through Delta Reservations when available.

Delta’s waiver for travel booked to or from TLV allows customers to rebook on available flights through September 6, 2024.

Air France cancelled Cdg to Tlv leg of my flight will they rebook on elal or offer anything I didn’t even get a cancellation email but assuming the Jfk to Cdg leg is still active
I'm thinking about booking a JFK-CDG-TLV flight for mid January. I want to book a CDG-TLV flight on ElAl as a backup but I'm also wondering about the JFK-CDG. Does anyone know if AF will cancel the full ticket or just the CDG-TLV leg?

They’d probably cancel the whole thing.

Anyone have any idea what it will take for airlines to start flying to TLV again? If they are waiting for all fighting to end in Gaza, some expect this to take a full year. If it is due to rocket fire, that has already virtually stopped.

Started to wonder if there will be flights for Pesach. There is no way that El Al alone can handle all the demand for seminary girls, bochurim and couples coming to the US for Pesach.

As long as there is an active war most airlines won't take the responsibility to fly their aircrafts and crews here. I'm not sure but I even doubt they have insurances that cover war.

BH I do hope the war will be over before Pessah

This is the issue. Nothing will change for as long as the war continues.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

What defines a war? Did airlines stop flying during any of the Lebanon Wars? The Intifada?

If the war is contained in Gaza, and the IDF needs months to finish cleaning out Hamas, is that any more of a war than in Lebanon?

Would the government insure other airlines like they are Elal?
