I'd be interested to see the first recorded source of this in Hebrew - there are variations
in the English versions I'm finding online, though the overall meaning remains the same.
(The one I remembered was something like "In time, we may forgive the
Arabs for having killed our sons, but not for having forced our sons to kill.")
