Best neck pillow for flying (economy)

Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for a good neck pillow for the plane that would actually do the job of holding my head in place for me during the plane ride!

The regular neck pillow is the perfect gift idea when someone is flying, but worthless in real life.

I've seen this one on Amazon, anyone with first hand experience with it?

How is that better then regular neck neck pillow?

I’m not sure why you say that that one is worthless in real life. I find that the best ones allow for minimal head movement forward and to the side.


But at the end of the day nothing is going to be perfect. You’re sleeping in a seated position in a chair. The best neck pillow is lie flat J.

Fair enough. I think the best one is going to be highly subjective. I suggest you try out a few of them and find one that fits well. This one doesn't have the best reviews but it's the one I've used twice on domestic overnight flights in economy and liked how it kept my head in place:

It is a big schlep but I bring a regular pillow with me whenever I fly. If I combine that with a window seat I can sleep through the whole flight.

I was happy with this one. Firm, supports chin, doesn't get hot easily

Only issue is that it smells chemically a bit initially - needs to air out.
