IIRC that was because they did not think it would get as bad as it did which isn't really the same.

Yup. It is a beautiful thing. We get to use hishtadlus and religion as a means of menuchas hadaas. At the end of the day god runs the world.

I wonder why additional precautions and safety measures were taken at Lag baomer the last few years. That was obviously something that hashem wanted at that time. Why change going forward though??

  A person can decide what to do, but God decides the outcome. We often see attempted murders that don't work out, it's because God decided they should live another day.

So you are telling me G-d decided that babies should be mutilated by Hamas?
I will stick with my belief as it makes perfect sense. Hamas is an evil that must be eliminated or they will do it again.
