Numbers aside, every Lubavitcher (I would think) who is going is not just for the stated purposes of the march, but to put tefillin on and do mitzvos with people. Lubavitch doesn't need to have a monopoly on this (than G-d we don't anymore!). If you don't want to put tefillin on with people, perhaps sharing another Mitzvah is up your alley. Speaking to Shluchim the world over, you hear that people are desperate for ways to connect. Perhaps you'll meet someone who wants to set up a weekly parsha phone call, learn basic halacha, etc. The opportunities will be there, we just have to be open to them.
