Attn Apple Watch wearers - worth getting for fitness?

With the current Black Friday specials, I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on an Apple Watch.

I’d wear it for health reasons. My main exercise is walking and my iPhone tracks that just fine. Any other reason to get it?

Also, I already have a mechanical watch that I really like. Do you need to constantly wear the Apple Watch for best results?

I don’t wear an Apple Watch so I can’t directly answer the question.

One important thing to consider, is that different Apple Watch models have different health sensors/features. So for example the Watch SE is lowest price ever on Amazon but it doesn’t have all the same features as the Series 8/9/Ultra. See this Apple.com page for the various health features with a helpful chart on the bottom for which features are supported on which models.
