DW every now and then claims the same thing. I say for that price just throw it away if you're concerned.

With mine it was a very strong burning plastic smell for a few days and we looked inside (there was a cracked part near the hinge) and saw melted red plastic inside.

Chicken in various forms. Bottoms/drumsticks, cutlets, shnitzel etc. The only fleshing supper I can make myself is with the Betty, super easy.

Of course, and that's where a parve one comes in handy, to get the chicken and the sides done simultaneously.

Chicken nuggets, french fries, toasting my hot dog or hamburger buns, vegetables with a meat meal, pulled beef nachos, just to name a few things

I believe I cracked the secret to leaving it closed (to gain the top heat) but not allowing it to steam (which it seems to do if it's completely closed) . Wedge a piece of folded foil or napkin to crack it open a bit. Prevents steaming but allows it to get super hot.

Regular cutlets/strips 5-7 minutes each side, chicken bottom cutlets a little longer.

The thermal fuse went. It's an easy fix. I took one out of a broken sandwich maker and put it in the Betty crocker. Working better than ever.
