Here's the report. Way slower than a pan and not as crispy (yes pancakes must be crispy). For large quantities a griddle is a better idea. (If they made the cover fold down it would perhaps be a contender)
Interesting, for me they cook much faster and are less greasy and don't splatter since I just use pam instead of oil. We like them better
