I suppose I'm being OOT level naive, but what's stopping me from fundraising to sponsor the membership of 1,000 shluchim in the US and having them amend the bylaws and call for elections?

Why only shluchim?

As far as sponsoring the membership, I really think anyone that doesn't care enough to put $100/year into the cause doesn't deserve to be a member. (Or are you opposed to the democratic idea of one person = one vote and would simply want to buy votes?)

And isn't that cheaper that the endless lawsuits over control?

When was the last time a Chazan in 770 was allowed to use a different tune for לכה דודי? How about הלל?

I am pretty sure the Maharal wasn't referring to the tunes currently used (imposed) in 770.

What was sung with the Rebbe changed over time. But again, what needs to remain as it was in 770 and what needs to be changed is up to the whims of a small group of nameless goons.

I assume the influx of so many people from all backgrounds creates the lack of order we see today, different people of different cultures never have a united goal. Give the power back to the gezhe people to run the show.  How can A Gailiztyaner and a Sephardi ever work together?

This literally happens all the time. A lot of older shuls have amended their bylaws to limit member voting rights for this reason (active member vs absentee members etc).

Because members voted for something, doesn't mean litigation ends. Now you need to enforce the vote.
