M1 brokerage is having a referral bonus where each side gets $250 for depositing $10k for 30 days https://m1.com/250-referral/

You open an account, create a portfolio (and a "pie" - I chose $SGOV as my investment), and deposit $10k into the portfolio. You can turn off auto-invest (https://help.m1.com/hc/en-us/articles/221053567-Using-Auto-Invest) - but if you're putting it into $SGOV it shouldn't matter that much.

To generate a referral link you need to wait until you get the "Your transfer's complete" email. And then you can generate the link from the side menu. The bonus hits a couple days after you fund the account.

The idea is to do a referral ladder (like we did for MooMoo), so pcgeek would use my link, and the next person would use his, etc.

Taking forever to load
Ok got it care to give clearer instructions on what to do here? Specific account type? Just a reg individual brokerage acct, what’s the portfolio etc. @Euclid mentions? Necessary, or open Individual Brokerage Account is all?

Individual account is fine. Then it will walk you through creating your first "pie" which can be one stock or ETF (like SGOV) if you want to keep it simple. Deposit 10K and keep it in your account for 30 days.

So I opened account transferred in 10k. Im still required to buy an etf or stock at this point? Don’t see that here https://m1.com/250-referral/
