Rented a car from Hertz in Israel. Today I noticed some damage to the front of the car, must have been a truck that swiped the corner by the hood. Does anyone know what the process is? Should I start the claims process now, or wait until I return the car to Hertz? Will they make me pay for the damage upfront and I will have to get reimbursed?

IIRC they make you pay upfront and get reimbursed. Then you start the process and ask them for all the documentation. If you used someone  like Noach they can be helpful to get on Hertz if they dont send what you need.

Thank you for keeping me updated.  To date I have not heard anything from A——.  I've called several times, left several messages, and sent a letter and I have gotten no response from them.

Hmmm. Sounds familiar. Think I’m going to ask them to dismiss the claim for lack of cooperation.

Thank you for the update.  I closed the claim since your credit card company has issued payment and there has been no response from the rental company.  If I hear anything from them I will let you know but to date they haven't responded at all.
