From my experience, handful of shopping trips to bingo, zero customer service, some specials are crazy but regular pricing is nothing extraordinary.
Do u live in the 5towns and force to shop at the other stores? If not, I don't think you would understand.

Your comment seems to be describing Kolsave, not Bingo.

I shop in the Lakewood Bingo often and they definitely have good prices on some items.  In particular, dairy items (including ice cream) are consistently cheaper than dairy items in any other store I shop at (NPGS, GG, Evergreen).  If you are makpid on cholov yisrael that is a significant savings.  That being said, a lot of their products are fairly priced but not great bargains and a percentage of products are noticeably more expensive than similar items elsewhere.  In addition, they don't carry every product I need so it's not an "every week" shopping for me.  I hope this location will offer significant savings to their customers since groceries are so expensive in the 5 Towns.

Their prices this time around are nothing amazing IMHO.
Last appliance sale they ran had much more competitive pricing.
It feels like every time they get worse (or whatever the correct term for a bad sale may be).
Maybe they’re adopting Costcos playbook. Undercut everyone enough so that you get a reputation as a discount store and then charge whatever you want and people think they’re getting a great deal. Oh and sell in different quantities than other retailers so price checking becomes a hassle for most.
so it seems
Monsey prices are very similar to the local stores, once you factor in the sales in local stores. Bingo sales have been few and far in between.
Feelings don't care about your facts

Non of those are comparing to the 5Towns where one store has control and monopoly and is so overpriced, even compared to their own other locations.,

Nobody can imagine what it is like shopping in the 5 Towns, unless you live here. It is simply unaffordable.

I would rather GG stop sponsoring concerts and leagues, stop painting their vans, and stop all their PR. Cut down on the crazy amount of workers who overcrowd the store. Pass the savings on to the consumer.

In other words, follow Bingo's playbook.

Sorry to bud into this conversation, can you provide some examples of what is expensive compared to any other kosher supermarket in NYC (other than bingo/krm).

You can use their online websites to compare prices.

Ie chestnut, marketplace, evergreen, gg (Brooklyn) seasons.

I'm genuinely curious for examples.

If you are genuinely curious, you can check out their website yourself.

I was going to attach their add, but that is just their few items on sale.

If you're not from the 5 Towns, this is not relevant to you anyways. If you are from the 5 Towns, you already know the issue. Everyone here complains.

I was in the store the other day and I met a friend shopping. They were rushing through the store. I asked them why they are in such a rush? They told me they are trying to get out of the store quickly before they raise the prices again!

I can just tell you, when I went to GG in Brooklyn (I happened to be nearby), the prices were around $4 less per item. Even produce here is crazy. 5.99/lb for peppers?!?  Cucumbers "on sale" for $2/each (currently half the price at Bingo). Tomatoes only went down this week (finally) because Bingo is opening. Beef/poultry is not affordable. Period. I haven't bought locally in months. Produce I get delivered from Walmart or BJ's.

Even the Kosher wine store here rips us off. I just purchased a box of cheap Kiddush wine at the Chinese owned store next door to Bingo. It was over $20 dollars less than at the store next to GG.

We have been taken advantage of here. Thank you Bingo for helping us! Competition is always a good thing.

Until they get the crowds and then slowly creep the prices back up to what everyone is currently charging. Bottom line is they will charge as much as the market allows them to. I am admittedly not from the 5T's and don't know the local prices, but by the mere fact that they get away with charging it, means that enough people will (however reluctantly) pay the prices being charged.

yes except they also need to have customers walk through their door, and if more supermarkets are opening in 5 towns that gives the customer other options of shopping elsewhere, aka competition.
nothings impossible- the word itself says Im possible

Bingo has a track record. All of their stores have the same prices on same items. True, they might have some different items in 5 Towns for the 5 Towns crowd which might be priced differently, but on most of the store, they will be priced the same as in Brooklyn, Lakewood and Monsey.

Unlike GG who release different adds for each location, with different pricing, Bingo has one add for all their stores.

Even if they lower the prices initially to get the customers in the door, when they level out they will still be at Lakewood prices.

I happen to know a vendor who asked them if they can charge a little more in this store. With the higher price they would still be cheaper than anyone else in town. Bingo would not allow it. They said they are charging Bingo prices, and all locations will be priced the same.

Do you realize that your community isn't any different to those who are not close to Bingo/KRM in Brooklyn?
We all have the same thoughts. Why do we need to pay a premium for those items...

Again examples? Most kosher stores deliver in the tristate area when buying cases for good prices.

Competition is always a good thing.

moishas   always had the cheapest eggs in Flatbush. I got the impression that they were porously keeping them cheap as a loss leader.

Peppers and English Cucumbers are pretty volatile. As of last week English Cucumbers were $2 at Shoprite of AVe I.

No clue how to post vids on this platform. You just gotta be from the privileged ppl that see my whatsapp status  8)
Apparently opening tomorrow.
This is going to be a NICE store without the "warehouse feel".
Kol save is dead in the water.
Maybe some ppl will pop into it for some sales. But weekly shops will now be done by Bingo.
About 1/3 to 1/2 of GG shoppers will jump ship.
And of those that stay with GG, almost EVERYONE will do their erev yuntiff shops in Bingo.
GG had a great 10 year run of killing us, and the gravy train is over.
They should just focus on being the "premium high end" store in the hood and focus on the 1/3 of the community that couldn't care less about their grocery bill. There are enough of them in the 5T. But they will take a massive hit community wide.
Bingo is great news for us. BH.

@arid did a nice sneak preview a few days ago. Maybe he could post it here.
