Asado Events
« on: February 04, 2024, 08:17:11 PM »
Is there anyone else here that booked the Asado event that was posted on the DansDeals site? I had booked three VIP tickets and spent over $800. The event was beyond a complete flop. So many people were there that just left without even putting a morsel of food in their mouth. Meanwhile, I had spoken to the event coordinator named Mendy and he promised me before we left the event that we would get a refund. Meanwhile, I am left chasing him with him not responding to any of my text messages or voicemails.
I was wondering if anyone else from that night that had left because of the fact that there was not enough food and a lack of seating, and no hookah or cigars as advertised, get a refund?

Interesting , must have missed that post. The grillfather keeps himself busy. If not doing grills in winter or in Miami he's making meat boards.  Curios to know what his meats taste like. They look great.

@Dan?
Sounds terrible. I'm just surprised that we didn't get any other complaints until now. If we don't get feedback, we'd keep taking ads...

Dispute the charges?
Makes sense if the organizer isn't being responsive and fixing things.

I went

A friend gave me a ticket so I didn't pay. But there was tons and tons of food

It was disorganized.  But I had lamb chops, massive tomahawk steaks, tons of other cuts, chicken, grilled veggies, fried arepas etc

Bar was decently stocked though I had brought wine so not sure, the desert looked fine

Yes they over promised and there didn't seem to be hookah or cigars but the food was exactly as advertised.

The event organizer lost money which is unfortunate.

But I think food ran out about 9. It could have been done better with proper lines, designated tables

Seemed there was a vip area with waiters serving. I saw tons of food delivered to tables ..

The plot thickens.

But if they ran out of food at 9pm...and the event was advertised as running until 12am...

OP easily could have gotten there 9-12.

We arrived at 6:45. There was literally no difference between VIP and non-VIP. It was all mixed together. People were standing in lines around the grill area holding out their plates and in 5 minute intervals, would receive a sliver of steak. It was almost humiliating. We went over to the organizer and repeatedly asked him to take care of us. We finally left and went to JZ after waiting there for about an hour.

Are you sure you were at the Jan 21st event? There was literally nobody there who would honestly say that they received enough food to satiate themselves. I took video footage of the crowds standing there reaching with their outstretched plates.

Correct. If you aggressively stood on line like a cold day in a soup kitchen, you got those slivers. If not, you didnt get a morsel.

Im not here to bash the organizers or the event at all. Im just simply asking if anyone successfully got their refund as promised because i am getting a run around?
