As a card holder, I always bought basic. I'm not willing to pay the premium usually just for the seat assignment, which I am almost always able to work out anyway (especially when flying with kids). With this now, iwouks absolutely be more open to paying the premium.

1. Brilliant doing this on a Sunday. Bought them a full day of positive press.
2. They want more people to buy up from basic. This will help.
3. Helps them take away a Southwest competitive advantage.
They switched my basic economy flight no fee

This is probably not the perfect thread, but hopefully not too far off either.
I'm not finding a clear answer online...
If i use my ETC to book domestic flight and then need to change, I understand that no fees, just need to pay the fare difference.
What about if i need to cancel it? Would they return the money to the ETC? (not BE) Any fees for that?

Did you get an answer? Similar question what if I change it to a fully refundable ticket and then cancel?

Are you able to cancel a domestic BASIC ECONOMY ticket after 24 hours and either get a future flight credit or etc?

Or only regular economy?

It says it on every page on United's website...

No more waiver for basic economy.
