US Airways economy today PHL-LGA connecting after US 797 from TLV.

They originally cancelled the flight like 10 hours before I landed because of fog (no internet on plane), rebooked me originally to 4 flights later. I had to get them to put me on an earlier flight and on standby for a different one and put a pending label with my checked luggage for the standby fight and the booked later flight and told me to ask the gate agent to check if my packages are on the plane or should be brought if there is place.
There was place on that flight and I ask the nasty agent to please check if my luggage is there. She lied and insisted that she can't and I said that I can't board without knowing that my luggage is with me. She lied again that she can't check and rushed me to decide and just went on to other people and thus I missed that flight because she didn't want to check. I didn't realize right away that she was just lying, so I went to another gate agent at another gate and asked to please check where my luggage is. She checks and answers me right away that it went on to the plane (the one which I was standby on). Now I was double furious and I went back to the gate and confronted the agent (plane left in the meantime) and she lied again when confronted with the evidence and was all around nasty and ended that you can go to my manager. I have her name and all details.
I ended up flying with a yet later flight where I was standby on.
I paid full fare.

Do I have a case for compensation?

A friend of mine flew Turkish, from Israel to NY, when he landed he was notified that 2 of his bags were left in Turkey and he'll be receiving them tomorrow. Is there any type of compensation that he can get or ask for?

Friend on mine flew Iberia JFK-TLV when arriving to JFK they changed him to a AA flight with a long stopover in LHR, on the return they routed him through BCN and MAD, his original reservation was just one stop. When he came home he filed a complaint in SCC, Iberia contacted him and offered him $2000 (it was 2 tickets)!

i booked a stop over ticket with BA Avios on aa metal and aa charged the baggage fee twice (because it was a stopover ) who can I talk to ?
