Do TK or OS typically not respond to complaint/compensation emails.
I've sent then two already, over the last 2 weeks, and haven't gotten any response.

A year later and still waiting (not literally) for a response from TK about my complaints I sent them.
Wishing you the best of luck ;)

Tweet at them, they'll then tell you to DM the reference number or whatever.

Airline: Air France
Class: Business
Flight: JFK-CDG (with a continuing leg to TLV).

For the morning meal, I noticed that the kosher meal they brought me had a "best by" date three weeks in the past. They were very apologetic and the purser said she'd note it in her report. I reached out to them via Twitter, and they forwarded it to the relevant department.

Compensation: 5000 FB points.

Airline: Swiss
Incident: Broken Suitcase
Compensation: $270 check.

As a rule, for flights covered under the Montreal Convention, once damaged has been assessed at the airport the company has to issue a monetary compensation. Although they offer to fix it for you, you can refuse and get a check. In this case they took off 10% a year for depreciation but I have successfully gotten them to not deduct anything after a back and forth over email because "I'm not selling them my broken suitcase and I can't buy the same suitcase for what they are giving me".

Airline: American
Flight: Various
Class: Various
Incident: Late between an hour and hour and a half, meal missing, bathroom not working.
Compensation: 7,500 miles per incident, so I am guessing they give according to status.

I booked an AA flight, LHR-JFK, BOS-LHR, using Citi thank you points for a friend. Passenger is platinum member on AA.
Due to unusual traffic he arrived at LHR 45 min before flight. He was denied boarding and they wouldn't book him onto another flight until he spoke to the travel agent. He tried haggling with them and in the meantime I called thank you travel. After a long hold they told me that AA at LHR have cancelled the entire itinerary, so nothing they can do.
Passenger had to rebook (with BA) for almost double the price plus he had to pay for his second suitcase which he would have had free on AA due to his elite status.
Who do I write to? AA? DoT? Citi Thank You?
And what can I expect?

That's great. We had that in all three inter island flights on HA but were told that that's just how the planes are.

Why didn't he get free bags on BA?
