What's the legally required compensation?
I had a 9 hour delay (mechanical) ex-TLV with AA. Waiting to hear back from them
They offered either 3100 ils per person (legal requirement), or a 1k gc per person

Squeezed a $100 voucher out of Frontier after a bad delay then cancel midnight experience. Emailed a bunch of corporate emails and got response pretty fast.

Kind of a joke as needs to be booked within 60 days but was kinda surprised to see anything.

Was flying Business AF with a few kids. They said due to safety concerns, choldren could only sit in the middle, right next to an adult.the only solution they came up with on one leg was to have my two year old sit on my lap. Then they gave my extra seat to someone else. Can I expect anything for this?

definitely a refund for that seat
so far they are offering me (via email) a $500 voucher for what they consider an "involuntary downgrade" any way to encourage them to give me a cash refund?

My DD had a flight on UA from ORD-LAX (points) and LAX-OGG-LAX (cash). The flight from ORD-LAX was diverted to LAS because of mechanical problems. I ended up buying her a new ticket on SOuthwest airlines from LAS-OGG. UA refunded the ORD-LAX flight and the LAX-OGG-LAX flights and my DD received $250 credit as compensation and I received $100 credit for being a concerned mother.

United EWR-TLV 10/03 11:10 PM flight is currently delayed to 10/04 3:00 PM (a 16 hour delay!), due to a mechanical issue.

1 - What compensation should we be getting for this long delay and how?

2 - They gave $20 vouchers for Kosher food to be used in the airport only. This delay caused people to miss dinner last night, breakfast this morning ad lunch later today. Isn't $20 too little?
Also, since the vouchers can only be used in the airport, it didn't help at all for last night dinner & this morning breakfast since everyone was shuttled over to a hotel.
What can be done right now in terms of food and can a claim be made later that the voucher arrangement wasn't fair at all?

Thanks for your help.

The delay ended up being 17.5 hours!

We received an email from United linking to UnitedCares to fill out a standard compensation form.
Should we do this, or is it better to send a detailed email to customer service, or maybe do both?
Any help with this would be appreciated.

Should be eligible for compensation under Israeli law. Around $800 per pax, iirc.

Even though the ticket originated in the US?
Even for US citizens?
Thanks.

Yes and yes.
How do you file?
Just email CS and point out the due compensation according to Israeli law, iirc.

What a shame.
I just submitted a letter moments ago and requested a voucher for a round-trip, but I'd much rather $800 cash.
Can I bring this up after they respond to me?

Don't think you'll have an issue. They are legally required to offer it to you.

Not if they didn't offer it to you.
