Flight from TLV-CDG was canceled (Client had a connection to JFK), and was rebooked for the following day. I contacted Air France for compensation and was told that since neither the origin nor final destination were in the EU they are not required to give compensation as per EU laws. I replied that I was entitled to NIS 3,180 and their response was "As per your email, I note that you have mentioned that you are entitled to compensation as per Israeli aviation law. please allow me to inform you we follow EU regulations law and pay under EU regulations law". Does that make any sense, that they follow only EU regulations? is there anything to do about this?
