"Your Athens flight may be eligible for compensation under EU Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004, which protects European passengers against lengthy delays and other travel disruptions. To provide you with the best possible service, we have partnered with AirHelp to assist you in getting the compensation you deserve. We recommend AirHelp as they are specialists in claiming compensation for delayed, cancelled and overbooked flights. They make the process as simple and stress-free as possible. However you are free to submit your claim directly to the airline if you prefer."

they said its elgible up to 600 euro but they charge 50% in fees
i submitted a claim direct with the airline although i dont expect much cooperation from them
If the airline is partnered with airhelp they probably have an agreement to share the other 50%
I would file myself and forward the email to the regulatory body of that country

Actually sometimes yes
Chance of this is pretty rare however
Ec261 only applies to fares available to the public (from the airlines point of view)
In theory if you were booked on a nett fare consolidator fare etc (something that was not available to the general public directly from the airline ) they can say not liable

“Up to 600” is for longer flights. This looks like a generic email the company sends for all delays.
In your case you should be eligible for 250, before their cut.

I had a flight on AA that was delayed initially due to weather. the crew was delayed from an incoming flight due to weather issues, but the weather eventually improved but they did cancel many flights. once the crew arrived they started boarding, but after a few seats they deplaned coz the pilot was a no show. the rebooking line had literally hundreds of ppl and there was no way that i could wait there for rebooking. went to an empty gate to ask the clerk for help, but all they could do was rebook me on AA for Friday night, which is not an option. tjey said i should book an alternate flight on my own and they'll reimburse me. obviously now they're saying too bad because of weather. im going to file with DOT, but im wondering, if that fails, if i tried suing in small claims court, would they blacklist me? i wish i could say i will never fly them again, but we live in a  market with little competition. the idea of suing in small claims court is that it costs about $100 and its not worth it for their lawyers for it to drag out, and they will settle it. i was out of pocket around $1900 for the rebooking and other costs.

Where do you get that from? The fare class is available to the public it was just booked through a third party. Do you mean to disqualify any booking through a third party from compensation??

That's higher than they were offering before!

Did they also offer a mileage option? Have a screenshot?

I just had an Air Canada flight delay of over 3 hours (takeoff and landing) however the actual gate arrival was under 3 hours delay from the original gate arrival time. does anyone know how the CTA defines delays at the final destination, Is it from landing or gate arrival?

Family had a Porter flight delayed and ultimately rescheduled to fly the next day. However they boarded and sat on plane for 5 hours and airline said since it’s weather related no compensation! Is there anything to do about being treated like cattle locked on airplane with minimal air flow and food for that long?

Flight on Air France from JFK - CDG was canceled 90 days before travel. I filed a complaint with the airline but it looks like since it happened greater than 14 days away am i not entitled to anything? Rebooking similar flight is much more money.

DL 235 TLV-JFK on 9/11/2023 was diverted to DUB for refueling after being given a lower altitude route. passengers were told it will take 45 min. ended up sitting on the ground for over 3 hours after which the crew timed out, passengers were bused to terminal to wait on a line for delta reps to rebook them. some waiting for over 4 hours on the line with no explanation or food given. (supposedly local systems crashed) eventually most passengers were rebooked onto various EI flights leaving in the afternoon to the east coast or via LHR reaching original destination over  18 hours after original ETA. what compensation would they be entitled for?

Israel ASL
If it was out of airline control (ATC only had that route available etc) airline is not liable

my friend filed with a third party collection agency and just received this email. once the airline doesnt comply its safe to assume they are right? and more effort is a waste?
Hi Mr

We’re writing to let you know that Bluebird Airways is not being cooperative with our claims team regarding your flight to Athens.

Despite this, we still believe you’re entitled to your compensation and we want to have our legal team look into your case. To do this, we’ll urgently need some additional information from you, which we have listed below.

- Assignment Agreement for #1      , #2      , #3       - with correct booking reference; to sign, they need to follow this link:

- A copy of e-ticket/booking confirmation. It should contain: full name of the passengers, booking reference number, ticket number, flight details of full original itinerary, including: dates, flight numbers, departure and arrival airports.

- A copy of valid passport/National ID (with signature visible) for you and your fellow passengers
