So after much back and forth becuase my wife didnt have a BA account for them to credit the 15k Avios, they offered me a $110 (75 pound) voucher. When i asked them to match the value of the voucher to the 15k Avios that they sell for $438 they initially balked. After some back and forth I got an english speaking UK based rep who went overboard to get me off their backs. They gave me an additional 25k Avios for my account and a $500 voucher for my wife.

So 40k Avios plus $500 for non-lie flat J and bad food...plus the ~64k AA miles earned from the AARP deal...plus free Hotel stay. I'll call London a win!!
Nice!

Still not adding up to me how it was not flat bed. All BA 747s are flat bed. AFAIK. Maybe was it a wet-leased aircraft from a different airline?

Upper Deck of the 747. I dont know about the regular J. G-d knows i tried multiple times to make it lie flat, as did my wife on hers. They didnt deny it either. I walked around the cabin and checked other seats as well. They all stopped at the same spot.  It was a BA plane.

My brother flew with VA from LHR-JFK (connection from TLV on Elal). They lost his suitcase and didn't get to him till many phone calls and 72 hours later (from an airline that has 7 direct daily flights...).

He bought a suit, winter coat, shoes and some other basic stuff (clothing and toiletries) totaling in about $700.

According to their website, they only give $50 compensation for lost luggage! Obviously, he'll submit a claim for everything, but what is reasonable to expect them to pay back? Is their an enforceable DOT requirement ?

(Ticket was purchased on my Citi Prestige CC which does not give coverage to others (or at least not to non-dependants)).

$50 sounds pretty ridiculous for (up to 21days! of) lost luggage.

I'd be very curious to know what the outcome will be.
I'm flying the exact same itinerary in a couple of weeks (TLV-LHR with BA) and have been thinking that things will possibly go wrong, given the short connection time and large airport.
(Paid with CSP card)

How long was his connection?

2 Hours.

The irony is that he wanted to skip the NY part and just stay in London. The reason he chose not to was primarily because he would have to check is luggage all the way through... >:(

I'll be sure to post results.

Wow, if only we he would have been able to track his suitcase location before boarding the plane to NY...

Took a non-stop flight JetBlue JFK-SAN  but apparently our plane ran out of gas so we are stopping now at the gas station in LAS for refueling

Anyone else had such an experience? It's ridiculous, I'm sitting on the plane an extra 2 hours because of that.

We ended up cruising around the airport from terminal to terminal looking who has the cheapest fuel (that's what it sounded like...) after 2 hours in LAS we finally took off to SAN, total travel time 8 1/2 hours.

Let's hope I will be able to cash it out from JetBlue.

Flew LH F and the internet was not working. I could not even get to the page to buy it. Anything I might get for this inconvenience?

They gave me 10k AC miles.
