if its to ny or from ny the only thing to ask is that it should eventually get to your destination

I flew to Israel for Shavuos on Elal and had more than 5h delay on both legs!First Leg: They told me 24h before departure and they rebooked on another flight otherwise I would have arrived in TLV 1h before shabbos.Return Leg: I was supposed to depart 0:45AM and flight finally departed at 7AM.... I sent email to cutomer@elal.co.il and some other DOT emails. What can I expect from ELAL in terms of compensation?
Did you end up flying on an earlier flight on the outbound leg?
Yes I had to. Had to pay for 1 xtra hotel night and had to rush packing + my family and I seated 24 rows appart. Not ez with 3 kids!
Based on what I quoted above you might be entitled to reimbursement on the extra hotel night.Other than that I'm not aware of any 'mandatoty' compensation you'd be entitled to.Either way, be prepared to fight and wait very long...
They replied very quickly and offered $1,000 voucher to be used during one year...They said that Israeli Aviation Rules states that only 8h+ delay would be compensated...Not amazing considering that I paid for 4 tickets. What do you suggest that I do?
Assuming that the extra hotel night was less than a $1000 and you can use the voucher within the year I would personally take it and run... On the other hand if you prefer a cash reimbursement IMHO I definitely think you have a case, as Israeli Aviation Rule clearly state (see upthread) they need to reimburse accomdation in a case of 2+ hrs delay.Other than that don't expect a penny more than the law requires. It is ElAl after all...And btw how quick did they respond? How come they responded so quickly??
I emailed their managing director Yoram Elgrabli so maybe it helped
Mind to share?

Anyone get a response from Delta regarding flight 468 diverted to CDG on 4/26?
Just received response from Delta. They are sending a check for the Israeli compensation plus phone bill charges!
Can united vouchers issued via email from complaining about unpleasant flight be used for another persons name ? Thanks
