Any chance I can get some type of compensation on a flight I took over a year ago? Or is there a max time frame from or till when you can claim $ for a flight? (flight was delayed for over 6hrs sitting on and in the airport) just never got around to it, but bumped into some info about the flight which I kept should I have wanted to file a claim?
 Any chance? Or a waste of my time?

As I posted here, I've received compensation for a flight that had taken place over a year earlier.

I believe so. Are they legally required to offer anything?
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=LEGISSUM:l24173

Quote
Denied boarding

When an air carrier reasonably expects to deny boarding on a flight, it first calls for volunteers to surrender their reservations in exchange for certain benefits. If an insufficient number of volunteers come forward to allow the remaining passengers to board the flight, the air carrier may then deny boarding to passengers against their will, in which case it must compensate them.

Air carriers give priority to persons with reduced mobility and any persons accompanying them.

In the event of flight cancellation or denied boarding, the passengers concerned have the right to:

reimbursement of the cost of the ticket within seven days or a return flight to the first point of departure or re-routing to their final destination;

care (refreshments, meals, hotel accommodation, transport between the airport and place of accommodation, two free telephone calls, telex or fax messages, or e-mails);

compensation totalling:
€250 for all flights of 1,500 kilometres or less;
€400 for all intra-EU flights of more than 1,500 kilometres, and for all other flights between 1,500 and 3,500 kilometres;
€600 for all other flights.

Sounds like he's entitled to €600. Good luck getting it.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Thanks! I was wondering about that, if it applies here, since they arrived only about an hour after original flight.

It was actually BA. Are they also difficult with compensation?

Immediately upon returning from a six week trip to Israel, I filled a claim with Aeroflot for a suitcase which was delayed 3 days at the outbound. They responded that according to some convention, they have no obligations to complaints if this nature files more than 21 days after baggage delivery.

Any hope?

Baggage claim are bound to IATA which needs to be filled within 21 days.

EU261 delays have a statute of limitations of 6 yrs IIRC

21 days from the incident or 21 days from the end of the trip?

I was still in middle of my travels with very limited phone, internet, and computer access when the 21 days were up.

Alitalia damaged my stroller on April 3. I'm still fighting for my money.
I filed a DOT claim since they didn't respond to my email for over 60 days which is illegal.
DOT contacted the manager which emailed me a month ago that they will give me an answer in 10 days. I sent back an email to the rep at DOT with still no response.
Anyone have any idea how to proceed?

Hi - any thoughts on this?

DL 469 TLV-JFK 6/3/2016 flight was first delayed by appx 11 hours and subsequently cancelled - only recently wrote a letter to Delta about it.  (At the time I wrote the letter to Delta I was unaware of the Israel Aviation laws (https://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/ticket-changes-refunds/israel-refund-or-compensation-request.html / https://www.delta.com/content/dam/delta-www/pdfs/legal/passenger_rights_israel.pdf and others) and compensation, but similarly was not offered anything at the time of cancellation, including hotel and food compensation).

The reply received is as follows -- the question is, should I write back regarding the fact that hotel and food compensation were never offered, nor mentioned in the recent letter.  My reality is such that I would have stayed at a hotel and filed for such compensation, but rather I stayed at a friend.  Is there a standard per diem that I might be able to request, in this case?)  Interesting that the rep's note says that the flight was delayed, it was actually canceled, based on emails sent at that time from Delta.

"Dear FlyerNYC,
I tried to call you this evening to apologize for the inconvenience you had when Flight 469 was delayed on June 3, 2016, due to mechanical reasons that caused you to change your travel plans and return much later than expected to New York. You're right notifications are very important and I can certainly understand your frustration when you weren't notified in time about this flight delay. How disappointing!

 In accordance with the Israeli Aviation Services Law, you’re due compensation. I'll request a check in the amount of $862.76 equivalent to 3,070 ILS. Please allow enough time for processing and postal delivery.

We appreciate your feedback, your business and your loyalty.
Regards,

Delta flight delayed from Paris due to wrong fuel (no idea what that means). Delayed 2 and a half hours while stuck on plane with no ventilation. Missed connecting flight in the states, north carolina flight delayed 8 hours due to missing pilot. They are offering 45% back, $400 PP. They said that normally they give $75 for such a delay so they are being nice.

Thoughts?

Thank you so much for letting me know that!
They already issued $400 vouchers, would the EU compensation be in addition to that?
