Hi - any thoughts on this?

DL 469 TLV-JFK 6/3/2016 flight was first delayed by appx 11 hours and subsequently cancelled - only recently wrote a letter to Delta about it.  (At the time I wrote the letter to Delta I was unaware of the Israel Aviation laws (https://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/ticket-changes-refunds/israel-refund-or-compensation-request.html / https://www.delta.com/content/dam/delta-www/pdfs/legal/passenger_rights_israel.pdf and others) and compensation, but similarly was not offered anything at the time of cancellation, including hotel and food compensation).

The reply received is as follows -- the question is, should I write back regarding the fact that hotel and food compensation were never offered, nor mentioned in the recent letter.  My reality is such that I would have stayed at a hotel and filed for such compensation, but rather I stayed at a friend.  Is there a standard per diem that I might be able to request, in this case?)  Interesting that the rep's note says that the flight was delayed, it was actually canceled, based on emails sent at that time from Delta.

I tried to call you this evening to apologize for the inconvenience you had when Flight 469 was delayed on June 3, 2016, due to mechanical reasons that caused you to change your travel plans and return much later than expected to New York. You're right notifications are very important and I can certainly understand your frustration when you weren't notified in time about this flight delay. How disappointing!

 In accordance with the Israeli Aviation Services Law, you’re due compensation. I'll request a check in the amount of $862.76 equivalent to 3,070 ILS. Please allow enough time for processing and postal delivery.

We appreciate your feedback, your business and your loyalty.

Aa flight 1609, supposed to take off 8:15am experiencing mechanical issues, will be updated by 12:30 whether flight will be cancelled or not. Revenue tickets. Any recourse?

They didn't want to give more, since it wasn't their fault (was Air traffic controls fault) but offered instead a $100 voucher

Might also be covered under EU 261 (assuming you were in LHR on the 787)

He was in TLV, flight to EWR was delayed due to mechanical issue on incoming from LHR

We had a flight on Chines Eastern booked through Expedia but now we are told that the flight we were on was cancelled and the flight they would put us on would probably miss the connecting flight, although they offered to put us on flight a day earlier where we'd have to stay in shanghai for a day. Firstly, can I demand anything or receive any compensation from expedia? (I know their customer service is meh) And also can I get compensation from chinese eastern even though I booked through Expedia? All help is welcomed

Plus Im not sure what im going to do about our trip...

Was it on a revenue ticket or miles? More info.

If the delay is due to weather it is not their fault and you are not entitled to anything

$200 seems to be the norm when this happens in J as long as your meal was confirmed

guys can you help me figure out what to ask for?

Had a flight from TLV to PRG and got bumped off the flight due to them overbooking  (they were sent a smaller aircraft)


what compensation do I claim under EU / israeli law? (and which do I use)

also I ended up renting a car for a day can I include than in my compensation?
