My family was on an El-Al flight EWR -> TLV that was cancelled in 2016 due to the pilot's strike. They were rebooked on a flight through Boston and arrived in TLV the next day (more than 8 hrs after original arrival time). I submitted a compensation claim but El-Al Customer Relations responded that the claim doesn't fall under the Israeli Aviation Services law because of the labor dispute [paragraph 6 (e) (1)]. They offered a $200 voucher for future travel per person (x3) that expires in 1 year. My questions are:

1. Was there an official strike? Pilots didn't show up to work but what constitutes an official strike/labor dispute according to the law?
2. Should I push for more?
3. Does anyone know if the voucher is tied to the name of the passengers? Or can it be transferred to a single person?

Thanks
Hasn't that ship sailed or plane flown a long time ago?  There's got to be a statue of limitations for the airline.

I believe it's 4 years. This flight was Nov 2016 so less than 3 years.

Ask them... I know many insurances only cover when you are out of town and not in your home town

Disgusting, do you have proof you requested a kosher meal?

I can't find the email, but IIRC they sent one. I usually screenshot these things so I should have one somewhere, I submitted the complaint again...

I'm on an AA married segment award ticket, was supposed to be ATL-DCA-IND. I'm getting off in DCA but the flight out of ATL is delayed 3.5 hrs causing me to "miss" my connection obviously and I'll be "forced to stay overnight in DCA." I'm obviously not going to bring anything up here in ATL as I want to get to DCA tonight, not IND. The question is do I try to see if I can get some sort of comp when I land in DCA or just drop it? Award booked out of my own AA account, taxes paid with CSR.

Why not call later tonight and ask for half refund?

I wouldn't do anything till you know forsure that you are on a flight to DCA, in case your current flight doesn't take off and you'll need a whole different complaint to make sure you don't get booked a different way to IND
I'm not who you think I am.

I'm obviously not going to do that, I'm currently on the plane waiting to take off to DCA which apparently isn't going to happen for another hour and a half.
