Can't speak for Amex but Chase is sort of worthless, had issues every time. Just buy travel insurance, it's pretty cheap if just for baggage etc

KLM makes a big fuzz that you "shouldn't" use an EU261 Claim Agency. If I were you I would respond that they should reconsider or you will contact a claim agency (See here https://blog.klm.com/claim-compensation/)

If you need insurance just for the "Trip" = meaning from when the aircraft takes off - an not before the trip to cancel etc - try the "Pack N Go" plan from Travel Guard

Are you referring to the Travel Insurance? I had good experience with Travel Guard & TravelEx, and bad experience with Chase aka Allianz

I've had good experience with Travel Insured (a number of times) and with RoamRight.

They wanted to give me just $150 I emailed them to call me, they called me and I told them I’m done with KLM so the supervisor said they can give me $300 max....
And the they are not untitled for the €600 because flight was delayed due to air traffic....

Before contacting a claim agency, one can try the governing body of that country, just not sure if effective. (Swiss govt told me they cant enforce and to go to court is my own decision)

Many times, there will be KSMLs with different expiration dates for the different passengers, which would explain it.

Swiss is extremely miserly in my experience.

Either way I had food poisoning while traveling in my private car and I don't have to whom to complain....

Friend is traveling on a QF J ticket MIA > DFW > SYD. Booked through Amex travel. He was notified by email that the Miami portion was cancelled. Called and they told him they can put him on another flight in coach. He's now in the air to Dallas. Won't be much time on the ground for him to deal with it there. What should he be asking for, and from whom? I know it's a little far fetched, but is there any chance they upgrade him to SYD in F?
