That's great comp for such a flight, especially AA! How'd you get that?

I just filled out the complaint form and an hour later they sent me the vouchers.

Had a convenient night flight yesterday from TLV - SFO with UA955 and then a short stop over to connect to UA555 arriving in SAN at 8.55am.

Once boarded and waiting for take off, we were informed that due to a malfunction with the Toilets, the flight is canceled.

Hysterically we called United explaining them the importance of us having to fly to SAN and insisted on them somehow getting us there.

After much emotional distress & pressure, we managed to convince the check in girl in TLV to give us the last seat on a flight to SAN with a stop over in FRA.

Due to the short connection in FRA the entire flight turned from what was meant to be a convenient relaxed night flight, to a hectic unrelaxed, sweaty experience.

Obviously the new Lufthanser flight did not have our ordered Kosher meals , basically having forced us to starve / fast for nearly 24 hours.

According to European law, Regulation (EEC) No 295/91, due to us arriving at our final destination more then 4 hours later then scheduled, we would be entitled to 600 € compensation, but after doing some research, I can find no regulation with American carriers.

Anyone here have experience or advise as to what we would be able / entitled to claim ?

It really messed up the entire experience and made us suffer throughout the entire flight.

Any American companies that specialise in flight compensation claims as there are in Europe ?

You'd be eligible for Israeli compensation

from what I understand Israeli law requires compensation only from a 8 hour delay and onwards...

European law, Regulation (EEC) No 295/91 can only be enforced on a European carrier or a European destination.

It makes not much sense that the USA would not have a similar convention.

Looking for someone with experience

You didn't say how long the delay was.
Your flight wasn't touching Europe, not sure why EU law should apply.

We arrived around 4.30h later at our destination then planned.

I am a European Citizen and was hoping Israel would fall under European regulations.

What does the Canadian convention dictate ?

JetBlue flight. Emotional support dog was jumpy and kept moving into my seat. Then it defecated on the floor by my seat. It got on my sneakers, etc. What would you expect?

Yep, after the incident. They moved me for the rest of the flight.

You can fill out the form here:
https://www.elal.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/Baggage-Claim-Form_EN.pdf
and email it to the email address on top of the form.
I have got some compensation from them in the past for stolen luggage, not sure if situation is the same, though.
They offered me complete compensation for everything that i had receipts for and 50% for whatever i did not. It did take a long while and lots of tries/patience/HUCA's to get it out of them. Eventually, i did get a check.
