I understand, they can only do that with your written agreement, but you can say you weren't aware of your rights under Israeli law.

its probably buried in this offer that once you accept you get nothing else
Let's assume they agree with my request for a round-trip voucher, why can't I just respond that I've since become aware that under Israeli law I'm entitled to $800 cash and I'd prefer that?

Are we sure that a 17 hour delay is $800 in cash?

Look it up. Anything over 8 hours is the max. I'm not sure exactly the amount right now. Iirc, it is 3,000 ILS which right now is about $925, actually.

Isn't there anything excluding us citizens in their home country?

Where do you see that NIS amount?
And where do you see it includes US citizens flying from the US?
Thanks.

What a shame.
I just submitted a letter moments ago and requested a voucher for a round-trip, but I'd much rather $800 cash.
Can I bring this up after they respond to me?
When i was held up with delta 2 nights they gave me a voucher + 800

https://media.united.com/images/Media%20Database/SDL/travel/destination/international/CSM859-IL-Notice-of-Rights-English-2016-09-REV-ADA.pdf
Clearly says"Notice  of  Your  Rights  for  Flights To  and  From  the  State  of  Israel in the Event of a Flight Delay, Cancellation or Denied boarding; or your Seat is Downgraded"So I guess you are right.

Where do you file a claim for Israeli law compensation?

But it was from Israel I don't know about to Israel
The terms says to or from Israel.
But like I said, it doesn't say a clear USD or NIS amount.

Airline site feedback etc.
So you just wrote them of their obligations under Israeli law but didn't actually file through some Israeli site.
Correct?

Can you, or someone else, please provide a link to the NIS 3000 amount in an official Israeli government site?
I can only find it in news reports.
Thank you.

Don't be so afraid, you don't have to be a billion and one percent sure. This is not a Gemara sugya. Just send CS an email. Or search online. It was on DDMS, too.
