Just received an email that a return flight TLV-EWR in April is being rescheduled for 24 hours later.
Any compensation by Israeli law for this?
Thanks.

No, since you were notified more than 14 days prior to the flight

No compensation. You can get full refund or change to another available flight that works better for you with no fee.

For the return leg only or for the whole ticket?

For the whole ticket.
The United phone rep. said that only the return-flight segment will be refunded, but can't say how much that will be until we see it on our CC.
Keep in mind, we already used the first segment of the ticket.
Makes sense?

Oh, well of course you won't be refunded for a flight you took already.

Do you no longer need a return flight home? Is there no nearby flight / date option that works for you? You might not be happy with the refund amount depending on how the system calculates it (especially if you need to buy a new ticket)..

We are thinking that getting the return flight refunded & then purchasing a cheap round-trip TLV-EWR-TLV for Pesach & then purchasing a one-way TLV-EWR a year from Pesach will come out cheaper in the long run.

The travel agent said the refund should be at least half the price of the full ticket but the United rep. said it's not necessarily so, yet can't say how much the refund will be until it goes through (which is kind of strange, IMO).

If they’re both in the same fare class, you should get slightly more than half for TLV-EWR (just happened to me this week). On other occasions/airlines it can definitely be less than half.

Strange that they don't know the refund amount until after it's processed.
How is someone supposed to make an informed decision?

weird question but surprised i couldnt find anything on a quick google. what happens to Amex/other credit card trip delay protections if you cancel your original purchased flight and use the ecredit for another flight (in this case on delta)? would the insurer say they only cover the exact flight u used the card to pay for?

No experience with this, but my guess would be that if you keep the same ticket number it would be covered. If it’s open credit for anyone like a United ETC, it’s definitely not covered.

My Delta flight from JFK to TLV was delayed 12 hours due to a pilot calling in sick last minute. Would this be covered by Israeli compensation laws for delays of 8+ hours and if so, does anyone have a template I can use to request compensation?

Airline: JetBlue
Flight: SAT-JFK
Class: Economy
Incident: 4+ hour delay, broken down to 2h01m delay on departure and 1h58m delay on arrival waiting for a gate.
Compensation: $50 JetBlue credit.

$50 is pretty stingy IMO. This flight was on Sunday after the storm had passed and most airlines operated a regular schedule. JetBlue did not recover from the storm, and many JFK flights were either extensively delayed or cancelled on Sunday. Some inbound JFK flights were diverted to EWR on Sunday, because of the meltdown and no gate space.

We landed 1h42m behind schedule. Pilot announced it would be about 20-30 minutes till we find an available gate. There was not a single other announcement for the next 1h34m. At that point, pilot got on and said that we got a gate, but they have no jetway driver, so we are waiting for one to come by. This took another 25 minutes sitting in seats and finally allowed to get up. No announcements or updates made by the crew throughout the delay, even an update saying that there is no current update. No snacks or drinks passed around either.

I didn't (yet). I did have a small back and forth with their (robot) CS email department. This was the flight.

Per their “Bill of Rights”, $50 is their standard amount for your experience.

You can always try asking for more of course.

Other airlines don’t even have a standard, so a minimum amount is a good starting point.
