Airline: JetBlue
Flight: SAT-JFK
Class: Economy
Incident: 4+ hour delay, broken down to 2h01m delay on departure and 1h58m delay on arrival waiting for a gate.
Compensation: $50 JetBlue credit.
$50 is pretty stingy IMO. This flight was on Sunday after the storm had passed and most airlines operated a regular schedule. JetBlue did not recover from the storm, and many JFK flights were either extensively delayed or cancelled on Sunday. Some inbound JFK flights were diverted to EWR on Sunday, because of the meltdown and no gate space.
We landed 1h42m behind schedule. Pilot announced it would be about 20-30 minutes till we find an available gate. There was not a single other announcement for the next 1h34m. At that point, pilot got on and said that we got a gate, but they have no jetway driver, so we are waiting for one to come by. This took another 25 minutes sitting in seats and finally allowed to get up. No announcements or updates made by the crew throughout the delay, even an update saying that there is no current update. No snacks or drinks passed around either.
