AA146 scheduled to leave JFK at 11:15pm to TLV. Boarded on time. Announced slight to delay to repair door latch. Turned into us deplaning at 2:30am. Flight now scheduled to depart at 2:30pm. Better be some serious compensation for my family of 5 with 3 little children. What do you think?

This is so sad. AA is so incompetent. I just wrote back:

Hello,

In response to your email, Israel is not an EU member state. As such, Israel isn’t governed by European Regulation 261/2004 that you quoted. Rather Israel has it’s own aviation laws. Under Israel Air Service Law, any passenger traveling to Israel experiencing an arrival delay of  8 hours or more is entitled to receive 3,130 NIS CASH when traveling a distance of 4,500 kilometers or greater regardless of where in the world the delay occurred. This law applies in cases of mechanical delay.

Because my trip arrival in Israel was delayed for more than 8 hours because of mechanical delay, American Airlines is required to compensate me 3,130 NIS CASH as per Israel Air Services Law.

Please note that I am REFUSING the $200 airline credit provided and I am further pursuing rightful compensation of 3,130 NIS CASH as required by Israel Air Service Law.

Please be advised that this is my fourth attempt to collect legal compensation. Further denial of legal compensation by American Airlines will be met with legal action.

I can be reached at xxxxx@xxxxx.com or XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Thank you for your attention to the matter,
Ad120
How did this end up?

By Israeli law, you’re entitled to 3100 ILS per passenger. Don’t forget to mention the Israeli aviation law in your communication with them.

Wow! I’m sure there were a few DDFrs on that flight. Based on the reason for the delay being mechanical, you should all be eligible for 3100 Shekel cash per person under the Israeli aviation law.
Fill out a complaint here: https://www.united.com/en/us/customercare, and mention the Israeli compensation law.

Just got this for a client without requesting anything (came automatically 30 minutes after takeoff):

Hello XXX,

I understand the onboard Wi-Fi on your recent Flight 235 was not operating.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.  Delta is working to bring high-speed across our Airbus 339 fleet and your aircraft was yet to be installed. Providing a safe and comfortable travel experience is our primary goal and this includes access to Wi-Fi. This was not the experience we wanted you to have, and I apologize for not meeting your expectations.

We Appreciate Your Business
As a goodwill gesture, an Electronic Transportation Credit Voucher (ETCV) in the amount of $50 has been issued in your name. The voucher number and terms and conditions will be sent to you shortly. Please keep them as they are required for redemption. When you are ready to use your voucher, you can redeem your voucher by making your reservation online at delta.com. You can also contact Reservations at 800-221-1212 with your name, flight number and flight date.

Thanks for Flying Delta
We look forward to seeing you on another Delta flight.

Regards,

Angel Gonzalez

This was sent without any request from jetblue after a 4 hour delay.

Subject of the email was: apology email
Hi, *****.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced on JetBlue flight #B6***  on 24APR2022. Our goal is to offer you the best in air travel and we recognize your experience did not meet that goal.

We understand how challenging it is when travel plans are disrupted. As a gesture of apology, we have issued each eligible customer on this flight a service credit for future travel on JetBlue.

You will receive an email within seven (7) days with the amount of your service credit and redemption instructions.
The credit will be placed in your Travel Bank and may be used anytime during the next 12 months toward another JetBlue flight.

We look forward to welcoming you on board again in the future and giving you a renewed JetBlue experience.

Sincerely,

Kate Hart
Director, Customer Experience Operations
JetBlue Airways

6 pax on Delta ORD-LGA 6 hour delay for snow storm in Chicago (all other flights and airlines cancelled) $100/pp gifts cards for multiple genders including Amazon. I also asked for food vouchers during the delay and received $15/pp which kept my kids busy during those 6 hours.

Do you have law that can be cited in letter?
