so
  • If I arrived >60min after original landing time, I'm owed $775 cash [which no one mentioned at the time, which they were obligated to]
  • having boarded the bridge, I should not have been bump-able at all
  • in addition to all that, making DW fly like that caused her tremendous distress, and displays an egregious lack of caring on behalf of AA

(Re 3: I actually think the guilty party is not the individual agent, who tried their best without resources...)

side q: how is "200% of one-way fare" calculated on a mileage ticket?

Airline: Delta
Flight: MIA-JFK
Class: Economy (tickets were from Vouchers from a previous cancelled ticket)
Incident: Flight was for Sunday night and was cancelled on shabbas (over 24 hours beforehand). No reason was given. After on the phone for 2 and half hours was able to get a Monday 7:15 AM flight from FLL to LGA. That flight got delayed to 9:30 (warned us 16 hours in advance) and we didnt take off till 10:30.
Compensation: They gave me $150 vouchers per person (we are 6 altogether) when I called to see if I can get on a different flight when the Monday AM flight was delayed. I got an email on Friday that they deposited 10,000 miles into each persons account. While thats something, my wife and I did miss a day of work on Monday. Is there any way we can get more compensations? What about covering my dinner for Sunday night? If yes, what email address can I send the dinner receipt too?

TK, delay departing TLV resulting in 13 hour overnight connection in IST. No food or accommodations offered. Requested compensation under IL law and reimbursement for lounge access and got the following response:

We’re sorry that your travel plans were disrupted.

However, we regret to inform you that we’re unable to pay compensation for flight TK-0157 on 31st of May 2022, which was delayed by 13 hours 5 minutes due to operational reasons.

The regulation issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Turkish DGCA) in the year 2012 required us to pay compensation as a result of the delay you suffered. However, we cannot pay compensation for such irregularities starting from April 05, 2017 due to the "motion for stay of execution" adopted by the court.

We do everything we can to make sure our flights depart on time, but occasionally circumstances outside our control can cause delays.

We look forward to serving you better on your next flight with us.

WTH! Where do I go from here?

I had a Spirit flight last night from MIA to ACY at 8:15. When we still hadn't boarded by 7:50 people began going over to the desk agent and they told us they're having problems getting flight attendants and they pushed off the flight till 10:10 Then they said the flight is pushed off till 11:30 due to weather. We ended up landing over 3 hours after the original scheduled time.
Am I eligible to receive any compensation? (or I shouldn't bother with Spirit...?)
Thanks

This feels like a win in my book... could've been far worse...

Correct! But isn't there something called 'Significant Delay'?

Not aware of any such thing as "Significant Delay'... if there was, Spirit would've been out of business years ago  ;D

Filed a complaint through United Customer Care 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back (aside for the immediate auto-response).
Is this regular?
Any way to expedite?
Thanks.

Yes, it can take time. Especially for what you are expecting a response on.

Any luck filing for a delayed baggage with AC 2 days after arrival back at home?

It seems my CSR card only comes to play if it's during my trip and not when I arrive home? Correct me if I'm wrong?
Is my only option to get from the airline directly and don't even bother with Chase?

That has been my experience and is my understanding as well. And I have had some success with AC when providing good documentation and explanation why the purchases were needed.

There are laws about compensation for delayed baggage, where was the flight to?

Im booked on UA91 TLV-NY in Polaris in a few weeks on a Wed. I've been noticing that United has been selling up to 49 seats in Polaris on this route lately. I would love to get bumped and get paid as my schedule is quite flexible. What are the chances of this happening?
