Baggage desk said they couldn't...
As stated must be a really good reason and even then took hours
Case in reference checked bag contained medical equipment that was declared at check in

Checked in with United on Sunday afternoon for a domestic flight scheduled to depart at 7pm. At 12:20 am they cancelled the flight and advised anyone wanting to retrieve their checked bags to do so at the United baggage desk at baggage claim.
At baggage claim we were advised that for international flights, they can't send the bags without you, but for all domestic flights "the bags were already sent to your destination", so no bags.
Finally rebooked for Wednesday (earliest available). After more delays, I finally retrieved my bags at my destination shortly after midnight on Thursday morning.

The official excuse for flight cancellation and delays is #weather. (I haven't checked this but I'm rather confident. Is there any way to check without waiting on line for hours?)

Can I expect compensation for clothes and toiletries purchased while I didn't have my luggage?

Rant: United gets you to use their credit card to purchase the flight and save a few dollars on baggage fees while they have horrible trip protection. Should've booked on Amex, paid the baggage fees and claimed for trip delay etc...
End rant.
Imo they will compensate for you not having the luggage. Weather is the cover for flight cancellations across the board. Was the weather really that bad?

A lot of reports UA compensating passengers affected last week, with 30k points.

No exact rhyme or reason what kind of delay.

Look out for such emails

UA91 TLV-EWR July 3 is presently delayed 6h5m from 11:25pm to 5:30am (on 7/4). According to UA website, delay is caused by:
UA 90: Your flight has been delayed until 10:00am on July 03 because of schedule disruptions caused by an out-of-service aircraft. We're sorry for this disruption to your travel plans.

Is this eligible for compensation under Israel law?

Any advice for how to best claim?

Thanks.

Last week JetBlue cancelled our flight from JFK-Burbank. Long saga. Started with a weather issue and continued to their incompetence.
We got rebooked for Sunday. Five days later.

Do I have any hope of compensation?
And what is the best way to contact JetBlue about this?

Thanks

Did anyone else not get this or am I the only one?

Is it because I haven't yet cancelled my flight?

(I just made a new booking and left the old one hanging. Planning to cancel it once they reimburse for baggage issues. )

Israeli law requires an 8-hour+ delay for US bound flights.

I had a flight yyz to ewr on aircanada that was sold to me by united via amex travel.
The flight was canceled due to no crew so they booked me on AA yyz-dca-lga.
When I got to dca the flight dca-lga was delayed 9 hours due to crew.
I got into an Uber and just took a 3 hour  $400 ride home.
Now can I get the Uber paid for? Who do I contact? Amex travel? United who sold the original ticket? Air Canada who operated the original flight? Or aa who delayed the flight 9 hours?
Should I ask all 3 for compensation? Lol
Hope the story is clear!

AA would be the one to pay the uber as they delayed the flight. United and air canda already rebooked you so its not their responsability. If they pay for the uber is up to their discretion...

I accepted united 30K and received a email with the below
something to keep in mind when 30k isn't enough to cover your trip delay expenses.

Quote
Release of Liability
By accepting these award miles you release United, the operating carrier, and their respective employees, agents and representatives from any and all liability, claims or damages resulting or arising from the matters relating to your flight, compensation thereof or any related complaint.

How can they send that after the fact?
How can I "not accept" at that point?

Agree very misleading!
I only accepted 1 pax hope to be able to wait for the other on my reservation to claim compensation

.
If it only states this afterward, it's illegal.
File a DOT complaint.

I was very surprised.
I clicked on the link in your post and it says to log in. I logged in and it says that the miles were deposited. It didn't ask for much information, not did it give much information.
I was hoping it would ask for flight info because I technically had 2 flights impacted.

What's the best way to request compensation from Air Canada, online or by calling?
