Not sure if this has ever been discussed before.

Had a United flight booked and they ended up putting me on a Delta flight. Besides compensation for the issue with the flight they also told me I can claim the miles I would have gotten had I flown United.

This is the first time I was put on a different airline on a paid ticket so this was news to me.
Earned the DL miles as well as UA.

What's wrong with this world?

story: i flew united about a month ago on a business class flight. the tvs were not working the whole flight. i wasnt planning on using it anyways seeing as it was a red eye and i was gonna get some shut eye. complained about it anyways to united.com/feedback and they just now sent me a $75 voucher!!! :D
Is there any reason to complain about a not working remote control on united?
Is there any reason not to get a free voucher?
not at all just asking if they will give me anything
Oh oh I apologize, I thought you were wondering why I did what I did! Of course you should complain. And make sure to embellish your story.....

Airline: Southwest
Flight: DEN-EWR
Class: Economy (Wanna Get Away) + Companion Flyer
Incident: Misread departure time and got to the gate 8 minutes before the flight, at which point our seats were already given up to standby (10 min before departure). Was really annoying they wouldn't let us on the flight even though we were there before departure time, but if that's their policy, we were technically at fault, since we were late.
Compensation: No other flight that day, so they gave us $50 vouchers x2.

Airline: Southwest
Flight: DEN-EWR
Class: Economy (Wanna Get Away) + Companion Flyer
Incident: Flight delayed 3 hours due to Air Traffic Control. (Plus it was Pesach, and in the rush, we forgot to pack food for the flight. Add 3 hours to the day, and I'm not sure if we were lucky to find 6 bananas at the airport or if it just became gross at some point.)
Compensation: Even though ATC is out of their control, they gave us a $100 SW voucher!

They were going to sit all 4 of them separately.
They had to fight with the agent to get a parent to sit with each child and they would not put all 4 of them together.
There were empty seats on the flight and they could have been easily accommodated.
If there were empty seats, why didn't they just move once they got on the plane?

no, there were many empty seats and rows for the flight. It looks like her complaint was that the airline did not let them change seats to the empty ones.

With many empty seats on a place, one would think that there would be a way to have them sitting close by/together.

(Perhaps the airline made them sit several rows apart even though they would have been able to move to the empty rows if permission had been granted.)
Quote:
Booked my bro in law and his wife and 2 kids (5&2) with avios. On return trip from LGA to ORD, AA could/would not seat all 4 of them together. Initially all 4 were separate, but after they fought, they managed to get each parent next to one child, but many rows apart. There were empty seats on the plane.
Anything they can get? Who should they complain to?

I think that is what they were looking for. They would have thought that the airline would have tried to sit all 4 of them together being that they had 2 very young children.

that's good. I'd select that option if possible.
They sometimes need to send luggage to a remote island if the cruise ship takes off (disembarks) before the luggage gets to the port. Can get $$$. Of course, it's there responsibility. Sometimes that connecting flight is so tight that we've ran and reached the next gate, but the luggage came later...

into the airline or the cc?  (You arrive late to check-in luggage on purpose, or these things/disappearances just magically happen?)

I was booked on AA 3530 today DTW-LGA in First. The flight was cancelled due to weather and they've rebooked me on Delta 180 in Economy (which is also delayed). They say they can't put me in First even though there're open seats.

Any idea what, if anything, I can do?

Am almost positive that AA DTW-LGA service is one-class on an Embraer jet.  How'd you manage first class?
